“Focus is your GPS to Success”
When was the last time where you were working on a task or a job, and you were thinking of nothing else, but that task?
Do you remember when you were driving back home from work, after a long and tiring day, and you were only thinking of enjoying that mouth-watering supper after having a deep, warm relaxing shower?
Our mind tends to be engaged thinking of so many things, thoughts, ideas and stuff while we are busy working, driving or even when in bed getting ready to sleep. As a matter of fact, overall, people mind-wander 47% of the time, according to Matt Kilingsworth.
It’s been well proven through scientific research that when we are focused on doing one thing at a time, not only we complete the job, but achieve extraordinary results as well.
Here are four simple tips that will help you achieve what you want efficiently:
Go WWW: Decide specifically what do you want to achieve, why it is important for you to do it at this point in time, and when do you need to get it done.
Write it. Post it: Don’t just think about it. To help you track your progress and to stay the course, write your goal, task or whatever you want to do, and keep it visible and handy for you to consistently keep track of your progress.
Create a supporting environment: Of the main challenges that diffuse our attention is the environment we work in and interact with. Create your own environment, one that has as less distractors as possible (people included), and as many supporters as possible.
Keep going: Yes, as much as you keep distractors away, yet, something, or someone, will get to you, and will shake the water a bit. Your job is to stay the course, and avoid drifting off track. Keep in mind the reward(s) you will get as a result of achieving your goal, and the euphoria of success when you get what you want done, done.
